About
The Fin Grouping brings spectacular impact to one of our most beloved designs. Featuring 12 or 18 individual pendants, this dramatic composition transforms stairways, hallways, receptions and larger living areas. The intricate handmade bone china shades emit a generous downward light while glowing beautifully themselves to enrich the atmosphere of the room.
Turned off, the glazed ceramic appears architectural and refined. Perfect for creating a stunning focal point, each grouping is supplied with grey cotton braided cables, and every pendant’s height can be individually adjusted during installation, allowing for a tight cluster or a space-filling cascade of light.
Manufacturing
Each Fin shade is hand slip-cast at our Stoke-on-Trent factory using a complex two-piece mould. Liquid clay, or slip, is poured into the mould and left to set before the segments are separated, revealing the Fin’s distinctive ribbed form. After firing and glazing, the bone china takes on a soft translucency, intricate when illuminated and sculptural when at rest.
This process alone takes several days. The final manual assembly of the light takes place at our factory in Oxfordshire.
